The ‘Paseo Maritimo’ that tracks Playa Blanca’s seafront is a highlight of Lanzarote’s second largest resort, a former sleepy fishing village located at the southern tip of the island.

Running from one end of the resort to the other, the approximately two-mile walk takes in the pretty beachfront of in the centre of the resort, ending at the smart Rubicon marina to the east and the Pechiguera lighthouse to the west. The stroll is worth it for the stunning views across the sea to neighbouring Fuerteventura.

One of Mallorca’s most popular family resorts, Puerto Pollensa lies within a horseshoe bay with a mountainous backdrop in the north-east corner of the Balearic island, a location protected from the elements and ideal for a picturesque promenade.

 

Called the Pine Walk, much of the the resort’s famous esplanade that runs around the bay for two miles is lined with pine trees that lean towards the calm, sandy beach, offering much welcome shade in the hot summer months.

The bars and restaurants along the way are a popular place for an evening drink or dinner.
